Season trucking along

Well I’ve had a busy time, with good fishing and great clients.

Guiding is all about getting to the right spot for that day, sometimes I don’t know were I’m going until the morning before, we like to go were it’s good on the day.

Here is a few shots of the last few weeks.

Eddie and Simon

Our day started a little cold but as it warmed up so did the fishing.Simon opening the account with a wee rocket.

A nice Brownie for Simon.

Not the cutest fish in the world for Eddie, but still a good size.

We actually had a big fish come up and take the fly but the hook never set, sounds like a fisherman’s story I know but some of them are true.

Local water still turning it up.

People are often complaining this time of year about the fish having a lot of pressure on them and being too spooky. They may be a bit more touchy but it’s about taking the shots and being were the fish are and the fishermen aren’t.A good guide should be working the best game plan he can for you and you should be getting onto fish.

Get off the beaten track and look hard, you have to change tactics as the season moves on.

Vince Kerr and I only spent a little time together but we made the most of it and Vince had a great time.

With a front coming in we had to work hard for the fish we had some great battles, some the fish won and some Vince won.

Getting smacked off the top buy these guy’s is what fly fishing is all about, sometimes these Rainbow feed real aggressive and we they do it’s worth making the most of it.

Vince will be back he reakons and I’m looking forward to it, he asked some good questions about what we can do and packages we put together.

If your coming over book ahead as I get busy I all ready have November of next season filling up so don’t miss out.Camp outs, heli fishing , big walks we do it all and we love it.

Fly fishing with the limo of the air.

Heli fishing is a great way to access remote rivers and when people are on a tight time frame it’s a good way of cutting to the chase.

We often say the best boat to fish from has rotor blades.

Not the biggest fish in the world but he is a big guy, I think that is why we put the rod in the shot.

As always the tean were surprised with how well these fish fight and this guy was no different.

No one likes to fish on a empty stomach.

This wasn’t an easy fish to get on the bank, but what a beauty.

These wee guy’s are like rockets, they can spool you out at the drop of a hat.

We fish maximum 2 clients per guide so on this day I was joined by my guiding mate Bruce from Dream Waters.

Bruce and choppy, a great way to end the day with a scenic flight home.
