Clients that become good friends.

Its funny, in this game of ours, how people that hire us end up as friends. I guided Mike a few years ago and we got along great, since then I’ve guided him on several occasions.

Last week we did a few days of exploring and hitting some new water, Mike is right into getting way out there and on this trip we went about as far as you could go.

For Mike its just as much about the location as it is the fish, needless to say he was loving this spot.

Mike has a great attitude towards fishing even if we didn’t hook the fish he was loving watching them come to the fly,but of course, he was all smiles when we hooked up on these hard fighting browns.

These 2 fish were caught about 20feet from each other.Big smiles.

Loads of fish in absolutely great locations, a fly fisherman’s paradise.

These fish were in great condition for early season and will only get better as more food is on tap for them, anyway enough of the glory shots, here is a few more location photo’s, well done Mike and looking forward to our next trip later in the season.

Mike has a big game fishing charter boat check it out at www.nzgamefishing.com

Season is open

The southern rivers opened this month and the fishing is all on.

We mixed up opening weekend with checking out new water and visiting a few old spots.

First fish for the season, he could do with a bit of fattening up but not a bad way to open the account.

On this day the rivers were a little dirty from a heavy rain but soon started to clear.

Heavy nymps were the way to go and then it got hot over the next few days and  we got a few on the dry’s.

This guy was a bit more chunky, not such a good job on the self timer though.

Check out this wee torpedo he went like a rocket.

Another nice southern Brown.

Any way things are all go and the highland rivers open Nov 1sts so really looking forward to that, booking are rolling in nearly every day now so if you are thinking of getting out with me make sure you book in to avoid being disappointed.
